There are a handful of people in my family that have been diagnosed with anxiety, depression, or both. My husband suffers from severe depression at times and I am always trying to find things that will offer a little bit of relief. One of the things I have found is Himalayan Salt Lamps.
I’m sure we have all seen the advertisements for Himalayan Salt Lamps by now. They seem to have popped up over night. I wanted to share with you some of the benefits I found through my own research!
- Salt Lamps Clean the Air – This can help with breathing issues, allergies, and asthma, and will help you breath better in general by improving air quality.
- Negative Ions do Wonders for your Body – Himalayan Salt Lamps give off negative ions. When your body is exposed to more negative ions you will experience better sleep, increased energy levels, improved moods, and better concentration.
- Improve SAD (seasonal affective disorder) – The light given off the Himalayan Salt Lamps is similar to what you would get out of direct sunlight.
- Eco-Friendly Light Source – Mining for Himalayan Salt is estimated to last around 350 million years, and they usually take a low wattage bulb, or even a candle. The base is often made out of sustainable wood as well.
There is still a lot of research to be done when it comes to Himalayan Salt Lamps. Some researchers believe that the lamps are amazing while others don’t believe all the hype. Personally, I think it’s an individual decision. I’m still in the early stages of testing out our Himalayan Salt Lamp, so I will update you guys if I see results!
