Today was a very hot day and I debated not doing a workout at all. There is a warning in effect because the humidity is going to reach into the the low 40s! (celcius) I decided Zac and I should get out early and get some fitness in. While he played at the park, I came up with this park workout. He joined me for a couple runs but my love of running has not rubbed off on him… yet.
- Pick a distance and run it. I ran the perimeter of the park once.
- 12 Pushups
- Run the distance you set again.
- 12 Squats
- Run the distance again.
- Standing Bicycle (12 on each side) Clasp your hands behind your head and bring your elbow down, while bring the opposite knee up at the same time.
I repeated this little circuit three times for an effective, and sweaty workout. I would have liked to add some lunges if it had been a bit cooler.
Remember, if you are exercising outside in the summer to stay hydrated! Don’t forget your sunscreen either, no one wants a nasty burn!
